National Tejano Convention-Day 1: Like a DREAMI couldn't sleep last night because I new today would be an awesome experience. It has been like walking in a dream. All the bands my dad would talk to me are walking around, very accessible---i can just walk up, take a photo and chat. The music lives in my heart, but normally, I just listen to my dad's old records, and cds that i buy over the Internet or where ever I can find them! It is not like back in the day when you could just turn on Kick FM or even further back when Simon the Diamond Molina & Super Loop were on the air. I miss TEJANO RODEO!! I remember going to work at the Downtown Dallas library people would complain about working on Thursday nights---but I loved it! Right after work I head over to Tejano Rodeo to enjoy a beer and the sounds---maybe a dance or two before heading home. Here is a link to some info about Simon the Diamond:
